If
your marriage is failing and you are considering a divorce, the
prospect of taking your life apart and beginning anew may seem
insurmountable. Contentious or amicable, the process of separation
and divorce is never easy; the changes are traumatic and the legal
aspects confusing. Though the end of a marriage is a difficult time,
it is important that you look out for your interests and those of
your children.
My
job is to be there for my clients, as an advisor, an advocate, and a
shoulder to cry on. I will guide you through the legal process,
including getting temporary support and other rights you are
entitled to under the law, so you can begin to build a new life. The
legal system, if well-navigated, can work in your favor; I
understand how to accomplish this, and will fight for you.
In
addition, if there are children involved, I make their custody,
support, and visitation a high priority. Children suffer the most
when their lives are uncertain; the sooner we can give them security
and an understanding of their new arrangements, the sooner they may
begin to heal. Divorce is painful for the adults involved, but
children, as innocent bystanders, are often the most affected. As a
mother myself, I understand this, and will work to protect your
children and your relationship with them.
I
will always treat you with respect and keep you informed. Working
with an attorney should make you feel less overwhelmed, and the
process seem less daunting. My experience in the legislation and
regulation making process enables me to understand the whys and
what-fors of our legal system. In additional to legal work, I will
explain to you the reasons behind the process. This is your life;
you deserve to be respected, informed, and well-represented.
